The Wixom Downtown Development Authority (DDA), along with its Design Committee and City of Wixom are happy to announce that the future home of the West End Commons will be located at 31250 Old Wixom Road, bordering Wainstock Street, Pontiac Trail, and Old Wixom Road. The vision for this undeveloped parcel is to become a public space that would provide activities, attractive seating areas and landscaping, an entertainment space, along with accessible entry points from the main sidewalk and adjacent parking lot.
The West End Commons Area would become an anchor to this area of downtown, while bringing visitors to businesses, complimenting the newly expanded Michigan Air Line Trail and the Junction Social District. This placemaking effort will benefit a growing community and emerging downtown, while its design brings a fresh but cohesive approach to the aesthetic of Downtown Wixom.

Wixom has been fortunate to receive multiple sources of grant funding for this project, including an Oakland County Placemaking and Public Spaces award, as well as a Community Projects Funding (CPF) award from the United States Federal Government through Congresswoman Hayley Stevens’ office. These grants will cover more than 70% of the cost for revitalizing this area of Downtown.
We are seeking your thoughts and input as we work through the final design concepts. Please take a moment to fill out this community survey about the design of the West End Commons. Thank you for your time and participation.
Update: The community survey is closed as of October 7, 2024.
