The Wixom Downtown Development Authority (DDA) had a great 2024 with many events, projects, and supported businesses. With all the accomplishments of the year they look ahead to the new year.
2025 will bring many projects to downtown, with the main one being the West End Commons. The Wixom DDA is in the process of finalizing engineering plans for this new public space that will be located at the corner of Pontiac Trail and Old Wixom Road. The Wixom DDA anticipates construction to begin in Spring of 2025 with completion by the end of September – just in time for the Wixom Block Party.
Another project that the community will notice will the addition of gateway and wayfinding signage not only through out the downtown by the entire City of Wixom. The Wixom DDA and City of Wixom partnered on new branding and logos in 2024. Both entities are in the final stages of deisgn for signage that will be installed throughout the community. This project will surely make an impact and make Wixom stand out from other communities.
Lastly, the Wixom DDA will continue to work the City of Wixom on the Renton Redevelopment site. They look forward to a possible future mixed-use developement for this area near Mack Park and Michigan Air Line Trail.
It will be a busy year for the Wixom DDA, but they are committed to making Downtown Wixom a premier, thriving downtown for all to enjoy. Bringing all of these new things to this growing community drives business, make the community vibrant, and quality of life better for all who live, work, and visit here.
