The west end of Downtown Wixom will be filled with music, food, art, and fun on Saturday, September 21st for the Wixom Downtown Development Authority’s (DDA) annual Block Party. The community will love all that is planned for this year’s event.
Music and entertainment will not disappoint as there will be a combination of children’s entertainment along with bands playing hits from the 60’s to today. The Wixom DDA is excited to have back the Mega 80’s for the headlining band of day. They will be performing from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Ladies tease up your hair, get your neon on, guys don’t forget about those parachute pants, and get ready to dance in the street. The highlight for children this year will be appearances by Bluey and Bingo, Crazy Craig Family Comedy, and the ever-popular Level Up Wit Jay video game truck.
The community will have fun shopping and supporting local artists and businesses. You won’t go hungry with the mix of food vendors, including QueFellas BBQ. Also, everyone will have fun playing cornhole and fowling.
Last year the Wixom DDA saw a record number of people come out for the Block Party at over 5,500 attendees. They expect this number to increase this year with the added entertainment, and expanded children’s activities. The Wixom DDA is thankful to Genisys Credit Union, Michigan Community Insurance Agency, and Donco Marketing for sponsoring this year’s event.
All of this fun will take place from 3:00 to 8:00 on Pontiac Trail between Wixom and Old Wixom Roads on Saturday, September 21st. For more information visit their event page at downtownwixom.com.
